About

Sarachchandra Writings is a space for my writing, poetry, stories, books, reflections, art, and academic work.

For me, literature is not something that began with my own writing. It has been part of my family for three generations.

My grandfather, Vangara Kasi Visweswara Venkata Subrahmanya Sastry, wrote Sri Advaita Sankari, a Telugu Satakam (https://archive.org/details/SriAdvaitaSashankari). My father, Vangara Omkareswara Vara Prasad, wrote Shankara Prabha, a Laghu Kavyam. I have had the privilege of continuing that literary journey through my own Telugu Satakam, Arunachalavaasa!.

I see this less as an inheritance to claim and more as a tradition to carry forward in my own way.

Telugu remains very close to my literary heart. At the same time, I write in English because I want my thoughts and ideas to reach readers beyond a single language. Writing in both languages allows me to remain connected to my literary roots while also reaching a wider audience.

This website brings together these different aspects of my work — Books, Poetry, Stories, Art & Paintings, Writer's Journal, and Academic Articles.

Some of these writings are literary, some reflective, and some academic or analytical. Together, they represent an ongoing attempt to observe, question, create, and communicate.

I hope these pages offer something worth reading — whether you arrive here looking for a poem, a story, a book, an idea, or simply another way of looking at the world.
